Seven PPSU personnel have managed to handle puddles on Jalan Kelapa Dua, RT 03/05, Kelapa Dua Island, Kelapa Urban Village, North Seribu Islands.

Kelapa Island Urban Village Head, Muslim expressed the long heavy rain caused puddles. It was exacerbated by blockages in channels strewn by garbage and mud.

"We immediately deploy PPSU personnel to clean the garbage in the channel for ease of water flowing and receding," he said, Tuesday (1/30).

He explained the heavy rain caused water in the channel to overflow onto the street. Even, personnel deployed a motor cart to clear garbage clogged in the channel.

"Actually, this is our routine agenda to monitor and clean garbage in the residential and channel," he explained.

By doing so, currently, the condition is under control and residents can carry out their usual activities. Therefore, he urged residents to maintain cleanliness by not littering.

The quick action above received appreciation from RW 05 Chairman, Ali Usman. According to him, Jalan Kelapa Dua is slightly concave so it is easy for flooding to occur.

"This area is indeed prone to flooding but only briefly and recedes when the rain stops. This time, it was a little hampered because there was garbage in the drainage tank which was blocking the water from flowing," he concluded.
